Biochar lifetime depends on the application matrix and its composition. Biochar in e.g. in plastic remains a C-sink during its lifespan, soil-applied biochar partly degrades over time. Persistent carbon can be used to offset emissions, while temporary C-sinks can compensate e.g. methane emissions.
The hub will provide what you need in your individual approach with biochar. To achieve this, we will brainstorm to find out which is the information and support YOU need within your sector in BCR so that we can create the best tool for collaboration and co-creation amongst all stakeholders.
